347 Stainless Steel Tubing
High-Temperature Stability & Corrosion Resistance from International Tube
At International Tube, we offer precision 347 stainless steel tubing (UNS S34700)—a stabilized austenitic stainless steel designed for enhanced performance in high-temperature environments. What sets 347 apart is the inclusion of columbium (niobium) and tantalum, which bind with carbon in the alloy to prevent the formation of chromium carbides at elevated temperatures. This significantly improves the tubing’s resistance to intergranular corrosion, particularly in applications where repeated thermal cycling occurs.
Similar in performance to 321 stainless steel, 347 SS tubing offers excellent mechanical properties and can be cold worked to a range of tempers, just like other 300 series stainless steels. It is also highly compatible with traditional and modern fabrication methods including grinding, turning, milling, EDM, ECM, and laser cutting.
347 SS Tubing Features & Applications
347 stainless steel tubing from International Tube is well-suited for demanding environments involving frequent exposure to high heat (800–1650°F / 427–899°C) and corrosive chemicals such as nitric acid.
Typical applications include:
Expansion joint tube assemblies
High-temperature gaskets and O-rings
Aerospace engine components
Exhaust manifolds
Chemical processing and production equipment
Other high-temperature industrial systems
As with all of our welded and drawn tubing products, International Tube manufactures small-diameter 347 stainless steel tubing from welded strip stock, plug drawn in coil form, and annealed as needed to meet specific temper requirements. Tubing is available in both straight lengths and continuous coil form to accommodate your manufacturing and assembly needs.
